Custom Logo Notebook Printing — Branded A5 and A4 Paper Notebooks

A branded paper notebook succeeds or fails on three decisions: the inner-page weight and grain direction, the binding, and how the logo is applied. Get those three right and a modest budget still produces a notebook people keep for years; get them wrong and the cover looks premium while the pages wave, ghost, or loosen at the spine. At Longyin Druck we produce these notebooks to order in our own Shenzhen factory, so the specification is settled before anything is printed rather than chosen from a stock list.

What Is Custom Logo Notebook Printing?

It is the production of paper-cover notebooks printed with the client’s logo, built to a specification: size, sheets, inner paper, cover material, ruling, binding, and logo process. Runs are made to order for corporate branding, events, and retail, and no ready-made notebooks are held in stock.

Which Sizes and Sheets Should You Order?

A5 and A4 carry the overwhelming majority of logo work, with A6 used for pocket and conference handouts. The variable that causes the most errors is quantity: a notebook is counted in sheets, not pages, and one sheet equals two pages – so a brief asking for “100 pages” can mean 100 sheets (200 pages) or 50 sheets, and the two differ in thickness, spine, and weight. State the sheet count and the page count together, and we confirm which reading applies before quoting.

A6

Pocket, event handouts

40-80

Which Paper Weight and Grain Direction Suit the Inner Pages?

Inner paper is normally 80 gsm, rising to 100 gsm when the notebook will be used with fountain pens, and 120 gsm for a heavier, more premium feel. Grain direction matters as much as weight: the paper grain must run parallel to the spine, so pages turn smoothly, the book opens flat, and the block resists waving when humidity changes. A notebook bound with the grain running across the spine will feel stiff and cockle at the fore edge, and no amount of cover quality hides it.

How Should the Logo Be Applied to the Cover?

Four processes cover most requirements, and the choice follows the cover material rather than fashion. Foil blocking and embossing must happen after lamination, because the film is applied first and would otherwise fill or dull the relief.

Which Binding Holds Up in Daily Use?

Binding is chosen by thickness and by how roughly the notebook will be treated. Saddle stitching suits thin handout-style books; perfect binding gives a squared spine and allows printed spine text; spiral and Wire-O open through 360 degrees, which suits refillable and working notebooks; and for a notebook that must lie flat and survive a year in a bag, thread sewing is the binding that keeps every page in place without relying on glue alone. If the notebook is designed to be durable, see our thread sewn notebook printing page for how the sections are constructed.

What Else Should You Specify Before Ordering?

Small features decide whether a notebook is used or shelved: an elastic band, a ribbon marker, a pen loop, rounded corners, pre-printed ruling, and whether the inner pages carry content such as dates, a planner grid, or brand material. The elastic band length is set after the spine width is calculated, because it depends on the final thickness of the bound block – specify the band before the spine is fixed and it will arrive slack or over-stretched. Packing matters too: individual shrink wrap or a printed sleeve for gifting, versus plain export cartons for a bulk distribution.

How Long Does Production and Shipping Take?

Production runs about 5-7 days for saddle-stitched notebooks, 8-10 days for perfect-bound orders under 10,000 copies, and 15-18 days for sewn or hardcover editions, counted from file confirmation; the actual figure follows the complexity and the quantity. Shipping adds about 7-10 days by air, or about 15-20 days by sea to nearby regions, with longer transit for remote destinations. Depending on the specification, the work may be read alongside our wider notebook printing range.

What Should You Send for a Notebook Quote?

Send the size, sheets per notebook (with the page count confirmed), inner paper weight, cover material and colour, logo process with vector artwork, ruling type, binding, accessories, quantity, packing, and destination. Stating the logo size in millimetres and the exact Pantone or foil reference removes the last ambiguity. Quotes are issued within 24 hours.
