Why the Box Ships Flat and Still Pops Up Square<\/h3>\n

A folding necklace box is delivered flat and folded up at the point of use, and it stays square only if the creases are cut to the right depth on the right board.<\/strong>\u00a0That is the difference between this box and a wrapped rigid board: the rigid box holds its shape because of the greyboard inside it, while a folding box holds its shape because the crease lets the board fold without cracking and the corner tabs lock the walls upright. Crease depth is set per board thickness, and on our lines cutting and creasing are held to plus or minus 0.5 mm, which is what stops a corner from bulging or a wall from springing back once the box is up. The lid is made as its own folded tray, slightly larger than the base, so the overlap is even on all four sides when the box is closed.<\/p>\n

The Printed Ribbon: Where the Brand Sits<\/h3>\n

The ribbon is printed along its length rather than woven or labelled, so the brand name repeats across the box face and reads from any angle.<\/strong>\u00a0That is why a banded box carries more branding than a lid print alone: the band crosses four faces and the bow sits on top, so a single line of type appears several times around the box. Printing runs along the ribbon before it is cut and banded, which keeps the repeat spacing even from box to box, and the ink is chosen to sit on satin without cracking when the bow is tied.<\/p>\n

The band is applied and the bow tied during packing, so the box reaches the counter ready to hand over rather than arriving flat with a loose roll of ribbon.<\/p>\n

The Chain Pad: How a Necklace Stays Flat Inside<\/h3>\n

Inside the box, a paper liner sits against the base and a black foam pad goes on top, cut with a slit or a notch that holds the chain and its clasp.<\/strong>\u00a0The chain is laid in a single loop on the pad with the clasp held at the notch, so when the lid is lifted the necklace presents straight instead of gathering into a knot. The pad thickness is set so the lid closes without pressing on the chain, and the liner keeps a clean surface visible behind the pad. The pad is cut to the length of the chain rather than to a standard size, so a box ordered for one chain weight is not shared with a much finer one. A pendant can sit in its own position beside the loop, which means one box can carry a pendant and its chain together.<\/p>\n
